Wiele aplikacji działających w czasie rzeczywistym ma dokumenty, które pełnią funkcję liczników. Możesz na przykład zliczać „polubienia” posta lub „ulubione” w przypadku konkretnego produktu.

Rozwiązanie: liczniki rozproszone

Aby obsługiwać częstsze aktualizacje licznika, utwórz licznik rozproszony. Każdy licznik to dokument z podkolekcją „shards”, a wartość licznika to suma wartości fragmentów.

Przepustowość zapisu rośnie liniowo wraz z liczbą fragmentów, więc rozproszony licznik z 10 fragmentami może obsługiwać 10 razy więcej zapisów niż tradycyjny licznik.

Ograniczenia

Przedstawione powyżej rozwiązanie to skalowalny sposób tworzenia współdzielonych liczników w Cloud Firestore, ale musisz pamiętać o tych ograniczeniach:

  • Liczba fragmentów – liczba fragmentów wpływa na wydajność licznika rozproszonego. Jeśli będzie ich zbyt mało, niektóre transakcje mogą wymagać ponowienia, zanim się powiodą, co spowolni zapisywanie. Zbyt duża liczba fragmentów powoduje, że odczytywanie staje się wolniejsze i droższe. Możesz zrównoważyć koszt odczytu, przechowując łączną liczbę w osobnym dokumencie zbiorczym, który jest aktualizowany rzadziej, i umożliwiając klientom odczytywanie z niego łącznej liczby. W zamian klienci będą musieli poczekać na zaktualizowanie dokumentu zbiorczego, zamiast obliczać sumę przez odczytywanie wszystkich fragmentów natychmiast po każdej aktualizacji.
  • Koszt – koszt odczytu wartości licznika rośnie liniowo wraz z liczbą fragmentów, ponieważ trzeba wczytać całą podkolekcję fragmentów.
