To better support your growing development needs, we are consolidating our device access and testing services onto the Developer Device Platform, a new Google Cloud-native suite designed for enterprise-scale remote device orchestration.
As we scale this new platform, we are deprecating Firebase Test Lab. Your test executions will be supported in Firebase Test Lab until September 30, 2027. We encourage customers to begin migrating workflows to the Developer Device Platform, and have resources available to assist you through this transition.
Firebase Test Lab is being replaced by Google Cloud's Developer Device Platform. The Developer Device Platform is a commercial-grade suite for remote device orchestration and is designed to provide an enterprise-scale, cloud-native offering. It acts as a managed device farm for developers to build and test applications using remote infrastructure, natively integrating with Google Cloud.
The Developer Device Platform offers:
- Device Run - Run tests on devices in the Developer Device Platform lab and see the results in the Google Cloud console.
- Device Streaming API - Connect to remote physical Android devices and interact with your app as if it is connected to your local machine.
- Agent skills - Help AI coding agents find, reserve, and interact with devices for you.

- Use the Device Catalog to find, sort, and delve into devices in the Developer Device Platform.
Yes, you won't be able to run any workflows after September 30, 2027. The Firebase Test Lab console and API will be shut down. We recommend migrating to the Developer Device Platform as soon as possible.
No, Android Device Streaming is not being deprecated. Android Device Streaming is a feature of Developer Device Platform and is supported. For more information, see the Android Device Streaming overview.
Developer Device Platform will match Firebase Test Lab rates for all customers through April 30, 2027.
After April 30, 2027, Developer Device Platform pricing will switch to a new price offering with both pay-per-use and per-device slot subscription pricing. At this point, promotional discount pricing to match Firebase Test Lab pay-per-use rates will end.
